John C. Shirley Cemetery

The annual cemetery spring clean-up will take place on:

Friday, April 24, 2026\ 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

The cemetery will open for the season on May 1, 2026.

As we prepare for the seasonal opening of the cemetery, all decorations must comply with established cemetery guidelines.

During spring clean-up, all items not in compliance will be removed, including decorations placed during the closed season or remaining from last year.

Families wishing to retain personal items should retrieve them prior to the clean-up date listed above.

Items removed during clean-up will not be held or stored and will not be available for retrieval.

Lawn maintenance will begin during clean-up, including the application of fertilizer and other treatments. Items left in place may be subject to disturbance or damage.

We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a safe, orderly, and respectful environment for all.

Cemetery by-laws are posted at the cemetery vault and on the Town of New Durham website.
